Despite the excitement surrounding the release of the roadmap out of lockdown, it's still just as important to respect the current guidelines and maintain social distancing measures when out in public. Failing to do this could mean the current dates set out in the government's plan may be pushed back, meaning there's still a very real possibility of it being even longer before we can embrace our loved ones.

One key way that we're going to be supporting the easing of lockdown is with our COVID-19 Marshals. Even with the success of the vaccination program, it will be months before restrictions are completely lifted, and this is where our COVID-19 Marshals can help us to return to 'normal' once more.

Just like many businesses up and down the country, we have had to adapt throughout the pandemic, and one such way that really suited our strengths was in supporting local councils with COVID-19 Marshals. Just like security officers, COVID-19 Marshals have to understand their legal boundaries, be highly trained and have the ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, for their own safety.

It's unclear what lies ahead for COVID-19 Marshals in the long run, but certainly in the months ahead they will play a pivotal role, especially as restrictions begin to ease. Knowing the correct guidance at the correct time for the correct scenario, be that a pub garden, public event or local high street, is going to be of the utmost importance, and it's something we're determined to get right.

As the country gradually returns to normal, we're hugely excited about security officers becoming once again a critical part of social events, but until then it will be our COVID-19 Marshals that take the forefront.
