Always on time

"If you aren't 5 minutes early, you're already late."

Anyone who knows anyone who has been in the military might be familiar with the above phrase! And whilst on time should, in fact, mean, on time, there's a lot to be said for being 5 minutes early. Being early allows you a few minutes to orient yourself, get organised and settle into the role before you actually start.

Being punctual is, therefore, a hugely important factor in the security industry. So much so that we have invested in the 'Guard Attendance and Welfare' platform -- Deputy. This system enables our security guards to log in and out for attendance and welfare breaks, meaning the standard of service at CSS Ltd is consistently monitored remotely.

Physically and mentally fit

Being physically fit is understandably part of the job when it comes to being a security officer. The nature of the role can mean needing to step in at times to keep the peace should a situation arise. What people don't understand is the need to be mentally fit when working as a security guard.

Unfortunately, security guards can become victims of abuse -- and it's for this reason all of our security guards are fitted with body cameras, their safety is paramount. Whilst this can go a long way in keeping our workforce physically safe, it doesn't prevent derogatory comments and verbal abused. We are, of course, on hand to step in and support should an individual need to discuss this further, but it will still take mental strength to be able to not take comments personally.

Our security guards can also be expected to work through the night if they're doing a nighttime mobile patrol for example. Working through the night is both physically and mentally demanding, so being both physically and mentally fit is an important part of the role.

Take pride in their appearance

All of our security officers are supplied with a CSS Ltd uniform, and we hope that they wear them with pride! As we've mentioned time and time again in previous blogs, having a security presence is an excellent way to deter crime, but in order for potential criminals to recognise there's a security presence on site, they will need to recognise a clear uniform!

Security officers are trusted members of society, and we hope that a smart appearance also makes them more approachable, as well as easily recognisable, should their support be required.

For more information on how CSS Ltd can supply a security presence for your business, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
