It's that time of the month again! It's time to announce Tony's guard of the month!

This month we're pleased to announce that the winner is.... Gavin Coleman!

Tony has put together the below words to highlight why Gavin was chosen this month:

"Since the New Year I have found it increasingly difficult to identity one officer above all others. This can only be seen as a good dilemma to have, as it emphasises the hard work that so many officers are putting in.

After careful consideration, I am pleased to say that the February Tony Award is going to Gavin Coleman. Gavin works on our site in Kings Lynn and has been there since we were awarded the contract. He has shown his commitment to the company on countless occasions, often covering shifts at little notice, where officers have had to leave due to sickness.

Gavin is extremely thorough with his patrols and his reports are always a pleasure to pass on to the client, as they are clear and well structured. Gavin is a real team player and has gone out of his way to cover other sites when we have been struggling to find cover. So whilst it has been a close call for the winner this month, I cannot think of someone more deserving."

Quality reporting from CSS Ltd security officers

We don't often talk about the importance of writing up reports after each shift, but it's a vital part of what we do. Ensuring the client is aware of anything and everything that happens on their business premises is paramount. It allows us to detail suspicious activity, report any damage to boundaries and make a note of anything that that could compromise the security of a premises.

It also allows us to document the good, the quiet and the calm shifts. It allows us to demonstrate to the client that they need not worry, and that everything is in hand with a security contractor they can trust. Reporting also provides a historical record of when we were there, what was observed and who was on shift. So, as you can see, there's a lot more to be said for simple reports! This makes Gavin's reporting such a significant aspect of why he was awarded February's Tony Award.

Security is better with exceptional teamwork

We often talk about teamwork in our blogs, but that's simply because it's such a big part of working in the security sector. Constant communication between security officers and management is what makes any security company work. We need to rely on our door supervisors and mobile patrols to work together, protect each other if necessary and provide a consistently high level of security no matter where they are and no matter what time of day or night. Gavin's exceptional teamwork and flexibility to cover last minute shifts makes him an excellent security officer, and one we're hugely proud to work with.
