Fudge

If you’ve read the About Us section of our website, you’ll know about our ‘Wellbeing Officer’ Fudge. As the fluffiest member of the team, it’s Fudge’s responsibility to be the most loved, which she does effortlessly! But there’s so much more to having an office dog than just their cuteness.

Dogs reduce stress and boost office morale

Having a tough day? Give the office dog a stroke. Need a little encouragement? Your office dog is there to support you in abundance! You might be surprised to learn that stroking a dog releases endorphins, which are feel-good hormones, reducing stress levels and building a more positive mindset. For the team at Carter Security, where the phones never stop ringing, having Fudge there as a delightful distraction is a welcome mini-break from the screens, leaving you feeling refreshed to dive right back in after a little puppy cuddle.

Office dogs boost productivity!

Most dogs are excellent nappers, and Fudge definitely fits their stereotype. If your office dog is a little bit of a fidget, needs constant attention, and yaps indefinitely, then office productivity possibly won’t be benefited from having a pooch under your desk. However, the majority of office dogs are relaxed and easy-going, only needing the occasional fuss from passers-by. This adds a calming element to the office, boosting productivity. Plus, little breaks from the screen to say hello to those adorable big brown eyes, rejuvenates the mind, making the day go faster, and productivity much quicker!

Enjoy better communication because of your pooch

This relaxed environment has another incredible benefit – boosting communication between staff members. This might be having a natter about work-related topics when popping out to give the office dog a comfort break, or just, in general, having a more easy-going atmosphere to work in. With communication often being the weakness of many organisations, having a furry friend in the workplace to combat it seems like a no-brainer!

This works well with visitors to the office too! Seeing an office dog will often relax visiting clients or contractors, making conversation flow much easier, and providing a simple ice-breaker to introductions.
