Every day we, as business owners, are getting more and more advice from the government on how to combat the coronavirus outbreak, and understandably it's a worrying time for us all. For businesses -- small and large - it means being incredibly flexible when it comes to staff falling ill, self-isolating or being advised to work from home. For pubs, clubs, theatres and restaurants, the advice is still uncertain -- your customers are being advised to stay away, yet you haven't been told to close. Schools, universities, colleges and nurseries are currently open, but we're expecting it to be only a matter of time before they too are told to close.

It's looking ever more likely that the entire population will be asked to stay indoors as much as possible to support social distancing measures. Whilst we should all be sticking together as a community in these difficult times, unfortunately, some opportunistic individuals might use empty office buildings or empty pubs and venues to their own financial gain -- particularly if their own financial situation has been compromised by coronavirus. We have already seen people behave in antisocial ways in local supermarkets due to desperation and mania, and the last thing any one of us will want is for your business to become the next target.

Office buildings and factories that are left empty with expensive and essential equipment inside need to be protected. Shops, pubs, restaurants and similar will also need to consider how they will ensure the security of their premises if they are to be left empty for extended periods. We have to consider long term security and economic recovery and not focus on day to day safety, as this outbreak is likely to last for many months.

How can Carter Solutions and Services support you?

The security industry is one that can't work from home... and it's one that becomes ever more important in times of distress. When Covid-19 is beaten -- which in time will have every faith it will be -- then businesses will try and return to normal. It's our job to support that in any way we can by keeping business premises protected in the meantime.

We do currently have availability to step in and work with you to protect your company. Manned guarding and mobile patrols are the most effective level of professional security that we offer, and we can work with you to create a contract that assesses your needs and works well within your budget.

It's at times like this that we need to reach out and support each other as UK businesses face differing and increasing threats. We need to showcase the strength that British people have and the resilience to overcome whatever obstacles we face in the coming weeks and months.

For more information on how we can work with you to provide a quality service at your business, please don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of our team. We look forward to hearing from you.

Alternatively, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V. We are currently recruiting across the country, so we look forward to receiving your application and, hopefully, inviting you for interview.
