Nick Carter’s donation to North Wootton Academy

The local community is hugely important to everyone at Carter Solutions and Services Limited. The nature of the role is to protect local businesses, industrial estates, retail parks (and more!) through our manned guarding and mobile patrol services, as well as keeping members of the public safe with our door supervisors. Although we operate on a national basis, it’s the local community that directly benefit from our security services.

The second most important factor for us is education and training. We never subcontract our staff and ensure all of our security officers hold an SIA license. We strongly believe this guarantees the same quality service to each and every one of our clients. We also have a purpose-built training facility at our head office in Wisbech. This means we can regularly host training sessions for every member of the CSS team. Training varies from industry-specific training to refresher courses, to updated training involving changes in security legislation. The list goes on, and we work hard to develop every security officer so they reach their full potential. Working with Carter Solutions and Services Limited a career, not just a job.

It’s this love for the local community and education combined that inspired Carter Solutions and Services Limited CEO Nick Carter to donate £1,000 for the second time to local school, North Wootton Academy. The money will go towards more books in the school library, meaning every child will benefit from the donation.

Nick says, ‘Both my children attended North Wootton Academy and I wished to help one of the area’s leading schools. I hope to be in the same position to help them again in the future.

Academy principal James Grimsby said, ‘A love of reading is fuelled by access to great books. Without the generosity of people like Mr Carter, we would find it increasingly difficult to maintain this love.’

The library is a central hub at every school. It’s often a safe and quiet space where any student can go and lose themselves in the pages of a good book. It’s somewhere children can develop and nurture their interests and it has the potential to shape their lives and inspire their careers. Libraries are safe, they’re secure, and this resonates with the team at Carter Solutions and Services Limited. Therefore, contributing to the library at North Wootton Academy made perfect sense to Nick Carter, and we can only hope the children enjoy the new resources.

4 Top Qualities Of A Successful Security Team

The office team at Carter Solutions and Services Limited recently enjoyed a team building day out in Norfolk at the Snowsports Club. Together they enjoyed skiing and snow tubing – one of the fastest growing winter sports! Getting the team together outside of the normal working week got us thinking about what makes such a great workforce, especially when it comes to the security sector.

    Customer service and manned guarding

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, we never subcontract our security guards and every security officer with CSS Ltd has a valid SIA license. This is so we can invest in our staff, know that we can trust them with our clients and it also ensures that we can understand individual strengths and work on improving any weaknesses within our team. We understand this is a more expensive route than subcontracting security staff, but it means we can continue to maintain the high levels of quality security that we are known for.

Due to the specific nature of the work at Cashino sites, Nick Carter wanted to personally recognise one particular security guard

    March’s Tony Award winner

As we’re sure you’re aware, every month, we select a member of the CSS Ltd team to become the winner of our internal Tony Award, as recognition for their hard work. As a token of our appreciation, they receive Amazon vouchers to the value of £50, and they get to hold the title of the Tony Award Winner for that month!

We take staff appreciation incredibly seriously. We understand that establishing a world-life balance in the security industry is difficult. There’s long shifts to contend with, short notice cover, potential long distance travel and not forgetting the everyday risks of the job. We aim to give every security officer and support staff the chance to win, and we feel this encourages and maintains the high levels of security that we’re so proud of.

Every month it’s difficult to select just one winner, but today we’re thrilled to announce that the Tony Award winner is: Kevin Greenwood! Well done! Here is what Tony has to say about him

“Ain’t no mountain high, ain’t no valley low…”

The lyrics we’ve chosen at the title of this blog link back to a classic song, one we think you’ll all be familiar with: ‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’ by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrel. But what has it got to do with the security service we provide? Well, in a nutshell, the chorus of this song demonstrates a key value at CSS Ltd and it can be summarised like this:

Corporate security: setting the right first impression

First impressions count. When it comes to security for the corporate sector, there are two main things to consider when it comes to first impressions.

    1. Are you offering the appropriate level of security?
    2. Does your chosen security contractor have the right image to represent your business?

We can work with you on both aspects to ensure your corporate setting has a contract that works for your business needs, as well as experienced, professional security guards in place that ‘look’ the part.

Our first winner of the Monthly “Cashino Guard of the Month Award”

Every month we reward a member of the CSS team with the ‘Tony Award’ trophy and £50 worth of Amazon vouchers

Since the start of 2019, we also introduced a Monthly Cashino Guard of the Month Award. There were many reasons behind this, but most namely to acknowledge the commitment and professionalism that our officers display when representing the company at Cashino, the recipient of which will also receive a trophy and £50 worth of Amazon vouchers.

We are pleased to be able to announce our first winner and admittedly it was a challenge to choose just one of our security officers....

    Discipline, respect, accuracy and speed

There’s a lot of similarity between the security industry and boxing: both require discipline, respect and accuracy and speed. It therefore made complete sense for Nick Carter to decide that CSS Ltd will be the official sponsor of local boxer, Grant Froud.

Improve your school security on a budget

The start of the year for many means a new budget. That budget needs to be carefully planned and executed, with every penny accounted for. No doubt your school, college or university already has CCTV, so is there any need for a manned guarding service?

Manned guarding does come at a cost, we know that, but it can lower your insurance premiums and prevent against costly break-ins. More importantly, manned guarding is the best option when it comes to keeping students and staff safe. They’re a brilliant deterrent to crime, and all of our security officers are highly trained experts in what they do.
