We never subcontract our security guards, instead, we choose to invest in their training and growth within the company. This helps us to ensure that our security officers are of the highest standard, SIA licensed and more than capable of the job in hand. We place a lot of trust in our security guards to represent CSS Ltd when they're working on site, but it can be difficult to manage our security guards when they're working. We recognise that this is can be a hurdle within our industry, as remotely managing staff has its difficulties.

Because of this, we have recently invested a considerable amount of money to launch our new 'Guard Attendance and Welfare' platform. This is delivered via an Apple iPad locked within a housing that's mounted to a wall, and this system is now being installed to all of our sites throughout the UK. This ensures that our staff have access to Deputy wherever they are.

How does the new system work?

Each guard is required to log in/out for attendance and welfare breaks, thus enhancing the standard of service delivered by CSS Ltd. For example, if the guard hasn't logged in or perhaps logs off early, we as a company are informed and can act accordingly. This helps us to maintain quality and consistency for our clients, as well as giving our security guards the support they need to know every hour they work is being recognised -- particularly important if they're working overtime.

Deputy has fantastic reviews and it has a few key features, pertinent to our business, that makes it particularly worth the investment:

  • Deputy works offline
  • Manage your workforce from anywhere
  • Check in with photo ID
  • Stop time theft
  • Build reports and export to payroll
