Last month, the BBC reported that almost 1 in 4 UK workers were furloughed. This saw employees receive 80% of their monthly salary up to £2,500 in an attempt to mitigate the effects of coronavirus. Despite these efforts, the UK is facing a severe economic downturn, and it's we're already seeing unemployment levels rise. With the furlough scheme due to finish in October, likely, these levels of unemployment will only continue to rise.

There's a well-established connection between high levels of unemployment and increased levels of crime. The deterioration in living standards sees people turning to crimes such as theft and vandalism, in an attempt to make money from selling stolen goods. For business owners, this is bad news, and so it makes financial sense to prepare your business with a trusted security presence to reduce the risk of crime at your premises.

Protect your business with a security presence suited to your needs

Every business is different, and it's for that reason that we will always offer a bespoke contract. It might be that CCTV is the right approach, or it might be that manned guarding and/or mobile patrols are the only effective way to manage crime at your business.

This will be dependent on:

  • The nature of your business: do you stock valuable products, or do you offer a service?
  • The working hours of your business: a business that operates 24 hours a day is less at risk of a nighttime burglary.
  • The size of your business premises: larger premises may require mobile patrols
  • The location of your business: a remote location could create a higher risk
  • The expected footfall: a higher footfall could mean a greater risk of unauthorised access to the property.

For more information on how we can work with you to provide a quality security service at your business during these unusual times, please don't hesitate to get in touch a member of our team.
