Before the coronavirus pandemic, some of our longest-standing clients were in the casino and licensed gaming sector. The first lockdown saw the closing of them, and we were expecting them to reopen on 1st August again following a government announcement. However, this week has bought some rather unfortunate news: their much-anticipated opening date has been postponed by at least another 2 weeks.

With the vast majority of the population itching to return to some kind of normality, for our trusted clientele this is a major setback, but one we hope won't affect the industry too much in the long term.

Throughout lockdown, we have continued to support all industries, protecting business premises wherever we can, and the licensed gaming sector is included in this too. However, nothing compares to having the doors open, ready to welcome the public back in for a great time!

There are a number of reasons why we pride ourselves on the work we do with the casino industry.

  • We stay up to date with most recent legislation

Knowing the law surrounding gambling is a hugely important aspect to a security guard contracted to a venue. It's important to know about: Challenge 25, Drug Awareness, Alcohol Consumption and Gambling Addictions, as all of these need policies in place.

  • We are a professional and trusted presence

Anywhere where alcohol is involved could lead to potentially volatile behaviour, and licensed gaming venues are no exception. Having a professional and highly trained security presence who understand how to disperse violent behaviour before it escalates is a huge asset. It also goes without saying that security officers are an excellent deterrent to anti-social behaviour.

  • We help to gain the trust of the local community

Finally, it's unfortunate, but true, that casinos can be looked upon unfavourably by the local community. Therefore, investing in a security presence shows that you care about keeping the peace and that you want your venue to be a respected venue that operates safely.
