Concrete blockades: 3 reasons why they are worth the investment

Concrete blockades aren’t what first spring to mind when it comes to security, but they are actually highly effective at keeping trespassers off your land. With us, you’ll find the process extremely simple, all you need to do is decide where you’d like them, and we can do the rest. We’ve put together 3 key reasons why concrete blockades could be the answer to your security issues, especially if trespassing is a particular concern.

1.Easily prevent trespassing and confrontation

The first and foremost reason for considering concrete blockades is for their excellent ability at preventing trespassers from gaining access to your land. Unfortunately, the travelling community can have a detrimental effect on your land, and can quickly take control and be difficult to encourage to move on. This could make surrounding neighbours feel unsafe, it could make your staff feel unsafe and it could result in damage, delay and littering, all of which come at a cost to you.

You could opt for our mobile patrolling service, who are excellent at handling trespassing situations, but for large areas are land, the best approach could simply be concrete blockades. At 2.2 metric tonnes, it’s highly unlikely anyone would be able to move them out of the way to gain access when they’re in place, providing a cost-effective solution.

2.Concrete blocks on a temporary or permanent basis

It might be that you need to have concrete blocks in place permanently, or it might be that you need them on a temporary basis. We can work with the individual needs of your site to develop a contract that works for you.

We have experience working with a range of different industries when it comes to trespassing. This could include residential land with parking restrictions, agricultural land with large expanses of open land, industrial sites with authorised access only or commercial premises. If you have any questions about whether concrete blockades would be a suitable solution for you, all you need to do is get in touch.

3.We can deliver to any location

For a small nominal weekly fee, including delivery and collection, we can place the blocks at the right place to restrict access day or night. Our team will meet with you, discuss arrangements and deliver the blocks to the exact location. We can then pick them up to remove them at your request.

As with anything involved in security, prevention is much better than a cure! It’s much more cost-effective to adopt a proactive approach to security than a reactive one. For more information on how we can work with you to secure your premises from trespassing with our 2.2 metric tonne concrete blockades, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

Never underestimate the effectiveness of a security presence

A brilliant security officer will be humble and unassuming whilst still being maintaining an authoritative presence.  It’s an extremely difficult balance to strike, but one that our security officers have worked hard on perfecting. But why is it so important to be ‘quietly confident’ at all times?

    Security guards in the news

This week it’s been upsetting to see not one, not two, but three accounts of security officers being attacked during their shifts. Unfortunately, facing abuse is a known risk of the job, but that doesn’t excuse aggressive behaviour towards security guards, and it’s always something taken very seriously. In the below examples reported in the news this week, most attacks were a result of the perpetrator trying to steal, and the security officer on duty simply doing their role. Shoplifting is clearly against the law, and getting caught in the act was enough to drive these criminals to violence.

    The importance of feeling safe

Feeling safe is something many of us take for granted. When you feel safe and secure in the workplace, you can relax and concentrate on other things – be that building working relationships or being more productive. Knowing that your personal security is taken care of takes the pressure off, but it’s often easier said than done.

    Quality security, rain or shine!

What a wet and rainy start to the summer it’s been! The miserable weather can make it difficult to build up the courage to go outside, but for our security officers, there’s no weather bad enough that means we can’t give 110% on every shift.

When the weather is gloomy, there’s a number of steps we take to ensure that the quality of the security service we provide isn’t compromised. The security equipment we provide to our security officers, the methodical approach we adopt, and our dedication to ongoing excellent training make the weather a non-significant factor in our day to day operations.

Research has shown that employees expect a certain level of security in the workplace. There’s a very good reason for this though, and it’s more than just their physical safety. Our security officers will never let you down

This week’s main news has arguably been about Theresa May resigning on the 7th June 2019 as Prime Minister. This is a huge development and puts UK politics are the forefront of global news. The big questions are now:

    • Who will step up to replace her?
    • What will happen to Brexit?

The uncertainty is unnerving, to say the least, and it got us thinking about what our processes are when circumstances change day to day. This could be if a security officer calls in sick, or if the nature of a job changes, for example.

Investing in our entire security team

We’ve recently had a new member join our team, Brett, who has taken on the position of Operations Manager. As with any new colleague, we want to wish him the very best of luck and offer him all the support he needs to excel in his career with Carter Solutions and Services Limited.

As part of his role, he will be spending time travelling all over the country. It’s for this reason we have invested in a Volkswagen Tiguan for him, demonstrating how seriously we take looking after our staff. Having a safe and reliable vehicle is the least we could do, considering extensive travel is part of his everyday duties. We hope this illustrates that we put the wellbeing of our employees at the heart of everything we do.

So, what will Brett be doing on his travels?

What to expect from a quality mobile patrol security service

One of our key security services is our mobile patrols. They can be perfectly tailored to suit your industry, whether that’s construction sites, retail, and corporate, industrial or commercial sites. The beauty of a mobile patrol is having trained, SIA licensed security officers on site, exactly when and where you need them to be. They are not only your eyes and ears on the ground, but they are an excellent deterrent to crime, and they are able to react there and then should an incident occur during their shift.

So, with that all said, what can you expect from a mobile patrol service from Carter Solutions and Services Limited?
