What a wet and rainy start to the summer it's been! The miserable weather can make it difficult to build up the courage to go outside, but for our security officers, there's no weather bad enough that means we can't give 110% on every shift.

When the weather is gloomy, there's a number of steps we take to ensure that the quality of the security service we provide isn't compromised. The security equipment we provide to our security officers, the methodical approach we adopt, and our dedication to ongoing excellent training make the weather a non-significant factor in our day to day operations.

Our security equipment

The first step to ensuring our security officers are prepared, whatever the weather, is with their equipment -- primarily their uniform. This includes a waterproof jacket, with reflective strips, and waterproof boots. Keeping your feet dry, and ensuring you can be seen even when visibility is poor is one of the most important things you can do in the rain.

As we've said countless times before, security guards are a great preventative measure against crime at your business premises, but in order for that to be the case, they need to be seen! Our reflective jackets are clearly marked with our Carter Solutions and Services Limited logo, making sure that even on a rainy, dreary night, our security officers can be recognised.

Our methodical approach

It can be difficult to get motivated when the weather is poor, and that's why a methodical approach to the work we do is a must. On every shift, there will be a number of things that need to be done, whether that's a particular route to patrol or entrances to guard. Ensuring there's a clear plan in place ensures that our security officers will always be on top of their game.

Our excellent training

Bad weather can bring with it a number of specific challenges, most notably that of poor visibility. When patrolling, our security officers know to pay extra attention, but this is more of a challenge when considering our CCTV service. Wet weather can make visibility difficult, to combat this, we have the option of thermal imaging cameras, meaning no matter how poor the visibility is -- day or night -- we will be able to identify trespassers by their body temperature.
