If you are looking for a security presence at your business, then you’ve already started thinking about risk, budget, and what solution you might need. By investing in security, you could also be lowering your insurance premiums, not an easy task with today’s cost of living crisis! If you’re asking these questions, you’ve come to the right place.

With over 30 years of experience within the security industry, we are in an excellent position to advise you on the steps you need to take. But what should you be asking us? How do you know that you can trust our expertise? Below we list the questions you should be asking any security provider if you’re looking to invest in security. Want to know more? Simply pick up the phone.

  • What type of security staff are you looking for?

Look at the size of your site, and consider whether you’ll need mobile patrols, manned guarding, or CCTV operators – or a combination of the three. Look at the type of security on offer with the provider and see if they provide the type of security you’re after. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Will you need the security officers to check people in and out of the site? Will you need security on site 24 hours a day or only during anti-social hours?

  • Does the security provider have experience within your industry?

Has the security provider you’re interested in getting specific experience within your industry? Whilst every business will have its own specific needs, there will be similarities between industry types and perhaps locations. This could help shape your decision on whether you’ll trust them with your security investment.

  • Ask who your point of contact will be.

Ideally, you’ll have one point of contact. This helps with managing your account and keeping an open line of conversation. If you’re being batted from pillar to post, not being able to get a straight answer, it should be seen as a red flag. No matter how large the organisation is, having one point of contact will ensure you’re able to build a trusting relationship with your security provider.

  • Ask for their credentials.

Any decent security provider should have certifications demonstrating they’re compliant and qualified. Don’t be afraid to research what these are and ask for proof of them to ensure you’re getting the very best provider you can. For example, we’re a Constructionline Gold Member and we hold our Alcumus SafeContractor Certification of Accreditation.

  • Ask for testimonials

The best way to see if this security provider is the right one for you is to ask for testimonials and reviews from existing or past clients. We list our on our website, but you’re welcome to look at third-party review sites for other opinions too.
