Every single one of our security officers holds a SIA license, and we never subcontract staff. These two factors combined ensures the service you're receiving from our security officers is of the highest quality. But what exactly is an SIA license, and why is it so important?

The Security Industry Authority, or SIA for short, is a body created by the government to regulate standards across the private security industry. By introducing a compulsory set of training modules, companies like yours can be sure the quality of the security they receive is raised across the board, ultimately resulting in a reduction of criminal activity on sites. Therefore, a SIA license shows that the security officer contracted by you is fulled trained and vetted, and therefore capable and competent to carry out their role effectively.

In order to gain a SIA license, the individual must have undergone a structured program of learning and education. This covers all of the basic areas of security industry knowledge, including:

  • The law in the private security industry
  • Health and safety
  • Communication and customer service
  • Fire safety
  • Emergency procedures

Once the basics are covered, the learning then goes on to discuss more in-depth modules, including:

  • Mobile patrolling
  • Technology in the security insecurity
  • Reporting and record-keeping
  • The law and communication

Whilst in-depth, they're still essential to the role of every security officer, which is why we place such importance on our team having an up-to-date qualification.

For us, it goes one step further. We have a dedicated training facility on-site at our head office in Wisbech, and we encourage all of our security officers to undertake additional training, dependent on their role and contracts. It might be something as simple as first aid training, or it could be specific training relating to an industry, such as a licensed gaming venue or an industrial site.

It's this additional training that we feel makes the difference. To our security team, it shows we're invested in their career development and supporting them in reaching their goals. To our clients we hope it demonstrates that we're always proactive when it comes to training, wanting to consistently be better and utilising our experience to ensure we provide the very best security service to every single client under our care.
