April's Brett Award winner is...

Giles!

Every month we select a worthy winner of the Brett Award (formerly known as the Tony Award), and this month we're thrilled to select Giles as the winner!

Brett has the following to say about him:

"Giles has been with us for many years, he is reliable and committed at all times. He just gets on with it, whatever site he takes on. He is a role model of a security guard for Carter Solutions and Services Limited.

"Communication is key with Giles, he loves the system we use to acknowledge shifts and comms. Well done Giles well deserved!"

These three traits: reliability, commitment and communication are key for a successful career in security.

1.Reliable Security Officers

We need to be able to explicitly trust our team to be on time and prepared for the shift ahead. This means they need to be well-rested and alert, as well as with the correct equipment. It's also vital our security officers arrive on time and that we can trust them to turn up to work day in, day out. If they don't the security of our client's businesses will be in jeopardy, and that isn't a risk we're willing to take!

2.Committed Individuals

We are committed to providing exceptional security to our clients, and to do that we are committed to providing our security officers with high-quality training and support. In return, we ask for a commitment from our team. This means working hard to maintain the reputation of Carter Solutions and Services Limited and working hard to maintain their level of training and personal development. We hope that by recognising employees through the Brett Award, we demonstrate just how much we appreciate them and that our commitment to our staff will always be at the heart of the company.

3.Excellent Communication

Communication starts with the creation of tailor-made contracts for each and every one of our clients. From not subcontracting our security offices, we can then handpick the right men and women for the job, and from there we can communicate to them exactly what the contract entails and what would be expected from them. This line of communication remains open to gather feedback, update any chances and provide clients with detailed reporting of each and every shift.
