Homelessness is something that could happen to everyone, at any time. One minute you could have the keys to your own home, and the next you could be looking for a doorway to sleep in -- alone and lonely. Homelessness is a national issue, it is a terrifying situation that far too many people find themselves in, and it's charities like The Purfleet Trust that help to support these vulnerable individuals in their time of need.

The Purfleet Trust has three main aims:

  1. To eradicate homelessness in West Norfolk and reduce its impact on the local community.
  2. To provide relief for people who are homeless, or whose lifestyle puts them at risk of homelessness.
  3. To support and empower those in need to make positive lifestyle choices, enhance their health and wellbeing, and live independently in suitable affordable accommodation within their community.

Operating in West Norfolk, this exceptional charity is one we're proud to have recently supported by contributing towards the cost of a van. Working alongside other local businesses, a vehicle was sourced that will now be used in a number of ways to help those in need:

  • It can help clients move their belongings when they find their own accommodation.
  • It can be used to transport tools for their handyman.
  • It can be used to collect donations from food partners.

This isn't the first time we've supported the local community. At the start of the year, Nick Carter donated £1,000 for the second time to North Wootton Academy. The money went towards more books for the school library, meaning every child would benefit from the donation.

As security providers, it's in our interest day to day to keep members of the local community (and on a national level too) safe from crime. This caring nature is extended by Carter Solutions and Services Limited to the wider local community, supporting those that need it most. We can't wait to hear how the van will make a difference to homeless individuals in West Norfolk, and hope that it can provide support and assistance as the months begin to grow colder.
