Crime happens everywhere. Whilst Carter Solutions and Services Limited focus on commercial security at your place of work, the truth is that crime isn't exclusive to business premises. For example, our door supervisors know this only too well, as being responsible for the security at licensed gaming venues, as well as nightclubs, gives them an insight into what goes on in the early hours of the morning of a town centre. This often requires our team to step in to diffuse situations, operating within the confines of the law as dictated by SIA licensing standards, before calling the local authorities.

One council has recently gone a step further, granting security officers more power to deal with antisocial behaviour in Salisbury city centre. They have contracted a local security provider to provide city centre security officers (CCSO's) in a bid to help Wiltshire Police tackle low-level anti-social behaviour. This has meant giving the security officers additional powers, such as additional evidence gathering capabilities, and will help manage crime such as underage street drinking and begging in the town centre.

Whilst this is currently only happening in Salisbury, it's a brilliant step in the right direction to help tackle a rise in low-level antisocial behaviour and one that the team at Carter Solutions and Services Limited welcomes. As we work on a national scale, we are ready to jump in to help local councils should they require security support in their local town centres too.

Patrolling the local town centre would be no different from the mobile patrol service we currently provide, and the additional powers would simply boost our team's efficiency and effectiveness. Our security officers are already highly trained in the de-escalation of anti-social behaviour and every member of our team is highly vigilant when it comes to recognising suspicious behaviour too. Our clearly labelled uniforms and vehicles also act as a brilliant deterrent to crime, which would all work towards making the streets a much safer place for the general public.

What do you think about security officers enhancing the safety of your local town centre? Is it something that you'd love your local council to implement? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
