A brilliant security officer will be humble and unassuming whilst still being maintaining an authoritative presence.  It's an extremely difficult balance to strike, but one that our security officers have worked hard on perfecting. But why is it so important to be 'quietly confident' at all times?

In our view, a security officer should almost blend into the background - almost. Having a guard that has an overwhelming presence can quickly become intimidating, making your business premises feel threatening and unsafe -- the complete opposite of what you want to achieve! You 100% want to ensure that the security on site is still recognisable though, and we achieve this through clearly labelled and smart uniforms and, if necessary, marked vehicles.

The reasoning behind this is two-fold. On one hand, you want to ensure that your staff and customers know you've taken security seriously and invested in a trustworthy company, but also you want to ward off potential criminals by signifying you have a professional security team on site.

We have mentioned before how having a security presence on site is the most effective method of keeping your business safe, but why exactly?

1.Security officers are a fantastic deterrent to crime

If a potential criminal sees a professional security presence on site, it's highly unlikely they'll risk getting caught and they'll instead move on to an easier target. As with most things, prevention is better than a cure, and security is no different.

2.Trained security knows how to handle any situation that might present itself

We're talking about more than just a confrontational situation here -- although that is most certainly part of the role. In particular, we're talking about services such as key holding and alarm response -- would you know exactly how to handle a situation if you were called out to your business premises in the early hours of the morning? It can be quite a daunting experience, but one that our security team can easily take off your hands.

3.Investing in security can lower your insurance premiums

Due to the reduced risk of crime at your business premises by having a recognisable security team in the form of manned guarding or mobile patrols, you might find that your insurance premium is lowered.

For more information on how we can work with you to provide a quality security service at your business premises, please don't hesitate to get in touch a member of our team. We'd love to talk you through which service would work best for your business.

Alternatively, if you're looking to further your career within the security industry, please check the careers section on our website or email us an up to date copy of your C.V. We never subcontract our staff, we invest in their training and we work hard to support our staff. We look forward to meeting you.
