Investing in security when we’re in the middle of a cost of living crisis might seem counter-productive, however, investing in trusted security can lower your insurance premiums. We’d also like to note that we are well-versed in catering for clients with a range of budgets, and we’re able to tailor-make contracts to suit both their security requirements and their budget limitations. Furthermore, we will always ensure our prices are fair and reflect the excellent quality of service we offer.

Many business owners aren’t aware that the cost of your insurance could be reduced if you invest in quality security such as manned guarding or mobile patrols, but why is this?

We've put together 3 key reasons why a professional security presence could lower the price of your insurance.

  1. A security presence acts as a deterrent to crime

When it comes to security, prevention is always better than a cure, and preventing a break-in or an incident will always be better than dealing with the aftermath. Your insurance provider will agree! From an insurance point of view, this makes your site a low risk for crime, and low risk means a lower premium as the chance of you claiming for theft and vandalism is greatly reduced.

  1. Our security officers are fitted with body cameras

Should an incident occur, having recorded footage of the event is a hugely valuable asset, not only do body cameras protect our security officers, but this footage can be used by the local authorities. It could be used as evidence in a court of law, and this means if you need to claim on your insurance, there will be no doubt as to what damage has occurred - it will all be caught on film.

It's for the same reasoning that we would recommend CCTV monitoring as a security service. CCTV will also act as a deterrent, less so than having manned guarding at your business premises, but still more effective than having no security presence at all. This will reduce the risk of crime and therefore reduce the cost of your insurance.

  1. Every Carter Security Officer is SIA Licenced

Training is something we take hugely seriously at Carter Security. We never subcontract our security guards, and all of them hold a valid SIA Licenced which demonstrates a high level of standards across the board. From an insurance perspective, it demonstrates you’ve invested in quality security protocols, and as such, it might reduce your premium even further for you.
