The key to a quality security service

When people think of the security industry, the first thing to spring to mind would no doubt be security officers, door supervisors and mobile patrols. Whilst these are, of course, fundamental services that we offer, we also offer an exceptional key holding and alarm response service.

One of the biggest risks to your business is the people you employ. These people are often trusted with sensitive information regarding your company, but they’re also often trusted with keys.

Are you aware that your insurance will not be covered for a break-in if the criminal uses a key? This makes keys incredibly important and you really should think twice about who you trust.

The main problem with keys is their ability to be lost, copied and stolen. Each of these come with their own set of problems:

A lost key

A lost key is a nightmare. First of all, there’s the worry of where has it actually gone? And then there’s the practicality of sourcing a ‘spare’ key and making a copy to replace the one that’s been lost. Accidents happen, but a lost key will always be a cause for concern.

A copied key

Keys should never be copied unless it’s been signed off by management. Unfortunately, staff may find it convenient to copy a key for other employees, and that can quickly become difficult to manage and a real security issue. What if a copied key falls into the hands of a disgruntled member of staff? The possibilities really aren’t worth thinking about!

A stolen key

This is the worst thing that can happen. A stolen key can be used maliciously to gain access to your property, and it becomes very difficult to ascertain who is to blame. This makes it difficult to file an insurance claim for theft and damages and could result in costing your business a lot of money and a lot of heartache.

A key holder is so much more than someone in possession of a key to your business premises. They are the one that needs to be on hand should something go wrong and an alarm is sounded. The authorities will often only enter the premises if the key holder is present, and this makes their role significant when it comes to security.

As per our BS7984 accreditation, your keys are secured safely and not available to anyone without the consent of an operator or a manager on shift. If an alarm is sounded at your property, we will deploy our alarm response team in a highly visible, branded vehicle to your site. We can deal with authorities and any other issue that may arise there and then. There is no need to put your employees in a potentially volatile situation when you have trained security professionals to hand.

Our alarm service lets you switch off from the office when you lock up. You need not feel on edge, worrying if tonight will be the night that trespassers set off an alarm. You can sleep safely in the knowledge that you have a trusted security service that is highly trained in reacting quickly and deescalating a situation before it gets out of hand.

For more information on how we can provide a quality key holding and alarm response at your business, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

    March’s Tony Award winner

As we’re sure you’re aware, every month, we select a member of the CSS Ltd team to become the winner of our internal Tony Award, as recognition for their hard work. As a token of our appreciation, they receive Amazon vouchers to the value of £50, and they get to hold the title of the Tony Award Winner for that month!

We take staff appreciation incredibly seriously. We understand that establishing a world-life balance in the security industry is difficult. There’s long shifts to contend with, short notice cover, potential long distance travel and not forgetting the everyday risks of the job. We aim to give every security officer and support staff the chance to win, and we feel this encourages and maintains the high levels of security that we’re so proud of.

Every month it’s difficult to select just one winner, but today we’re thrilled to announce that the Tony Award winner is: Kevin Greenwood! Well done! Here is what Tony has to say about him

But what has it got to do with the security service we provide? Well, in a nutshell, the chorus of this song demonstrates a key value at CSS Ltd and it can be summarised like this:
